Islamabad: Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly preparing to join forces with Tamil cinema icon Rajinikanth for the highly anticipated sequel Jailer 2, marking a major crossover between two of India’s biggest film industries.
According to Indian media reports, Khan will make a special appearance in the film, with sources claiming he is set to portray a police officer in a cameo role. The project will mark the first time the two superstars share screen space.
Reports suggest that production on the sequel is nearing completion, with only Shah Rukh Khan’s scenes left to be filmed. The actor is expected to shoot his portion in March, with the schedule likely to be completed within a week.
Jailer 2 follows the massive success of its first installment, which reportedly earned around ₹650 crore worldwide and emerged as one of Rajinikanth’s biggest box-office hits.
The sequel is being produced by Sun Pictures, with filming underway in Chennai. A recently released teaser has already generated excitement among fans, promising another blend of action, drama and comedy.
The reported collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth has further increased expectations for the film, which is among the most awaited releases in Indian cinema.
