Punjab Launches Free Scooter Driving Training for Girls

LAHORE: In a significant move towards empowering female students, the Punjab government has initiated a two-day free scooter driving training program.

This initiative, launched under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aims to enhance the mobility and independence of young women in the province.

The training sessions will be held at five designated driving schools across Lahore, providing an opportunity for female students to gain essential driving skills at no cost.

Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized the importance of such programs in fostering self-reliance among women, stating, “Empowering our girls is crucial for building a progressive society. This training will not only enhance their skills but also boost their confidence on the roads.”

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Punjab government to promote gender equality and support women’s rights in the region.

By facilitating access to driving skills, the government aims to encourage more women to participate in the workforce and engage in social activities, thereby contributing to the economy.

Looking ahead, the Punjab government plans to expand this program to other cities and introduce additional training sessions focusing on various aspects of road safety and vehicle maintenance.

The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing hope that such initiatives will continue to grow.
