Punjab CTD Arrests Indian RAW Agent in Sahiwal Intelligence Operation

LAHORE: In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested an operative linked to India’s external intelligence agency, RAW, during a targeted intelligence-based operation in Sahiwal. The arrest forms part of a broader, intensified security sweep across the province aimed at dismantling espionage and sabotage networks threatening national stability.

According to details released by the CTD spokesperson, the sweeping provincial crackdown involved 158 intelligence-based operations conducted simultaneously in various districts. These high-stakes raids resulted in the apprehension of 23 high-risk terror suspects and operatives associated with hostile intelligence agencies and banned outfits, alongside the seizure of explosive materials, firearms, and illicit narcotics.

Security analysts view the latest arrest in Sahiwal as a significant testament to the growing vigilance and operational capacity of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies. The infiltration of foreign-backed operatives into provincial urban centers underscores the persistent hybrid threats facing the region, necessitating heightened surveillance around vital national installations and public spaces.

The arrested suspect has been shifted to an undisclosed facility for rigorous interrogation to uncover local facilitators, funding channels, and broader terror plots.
