Islamabad: A large number of students on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the alleged harassment and registration of a fake case against a Bloch student outside the National Press Club, Islamabad.

The protest was organized by Baloch Students’ Council (BSC). The protesting students chanted slogans against the registration of a ‘fake’ case against Hafeez Baloch, a student of Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, and harassment of Baloch students studying in various educational institutions across the country.

Speaking of the protesting students, the student leaders said that Baloch students shouldn’t be harassed and arrested but protected, adding that they should be allowed to get their education complete.

They said Hafeez, who had gone missing earlier, had now been charged by the CTD Naseerabad under the provisions of terrorism and possession of explosives, which led to his imprisonment.

Advocate Iman Hazir Mazari, a human rights activist, said Hafeez Baloch was an alleged victim of enforced disappearance from Khuzdar on February 8.

After which, a case was registered against him by the Jaffarabad police station on March 16, which included provisions for terrorism and possession of explosives material.
