PML-N Wins NA-168 Bahawalpur By-Election

BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Malik Munir Iqbal Channar has won the by-election for National Assembly constituency NA-168 Bahawalpur, according to the Form 47 results issued by the Returning Officer.

Channar secured 87,789 votes, emerging victorious in the closely contested election.

Independent candidate Waleed Dad Cheema secured more than 39,000 votes, finishing second in the contest.

Polling across the constituency remained largely peaceful amid heightened security arrangements. Election officials supervised the counting and consolidation of results from polling stations before issuing the Form 47.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is expected to complete the formal process and issue the notification declaring Channar the returned candidate.

Following the notification, the newly elected lawmaker will take the oath of office in the National Assembly and formally begin his tenure as the representative of NA-168 Bahawalpur.
