PML-N Leader Killed in Muridke Shooting

Lahore: PML-N leader and former Municipal Committee Chairman Sheikh Shabbir Ahmed was killed in an apparent assassination attempt while travelling from his flour mills to his residence in Lahore.
According to police, unidentified armed men in a car ambushed Sheikh Shabbir Ahmed near Muridke on GT Road and opened fire on his vehicle.
The attack left him critically injured. He was rushed for medical treatment but succumbed to his wounds.
Police shifted the deceased’s body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Muridke, for a post-mortem examination.
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting, while police launched an investigation into the incident. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and arrest the suspects.
Police said the attack was preliminarily believed to be linked to a long-standing personal enmity. Raids and search operations have been initiated to apprehend those responsible.
