PM Demands Swift Loan Disbursement for Farmers

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has instructed banks to expedite the loan disbursement process for farmers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and consumers participating in the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Scheme.

This directive was issued during a review meeting held on Monday at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Apna Ghar Scheme, launched in April, aims to facilitate housing and construction loans of up to PKR 10 million with manageable repayment plans.

The Prime Minister emphasized that any delays in loan provision would not be tolerated, highlighting the critical role of financial support in bolstering the economy.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance economic growth through the development of SMEs and the agricultural sector, which are vital for job creation and poverty alleviation in Pakistan.

By ensuring timely access to loans, the government aims to stimulate investment and foster a more resilient economic environment.

Moving forward, the Prime Minister’s Office is expected to monitor the performance of banks closely and may implement further measures to ensure compliance with these directives.

Stakeholders in the banking sector are urged to align their operations with the government’s objectives to support economic recovery.
