Pakistan Launches PM IT Certification Scheme With Rs 70,000 Reimbursement

News Desk

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, through its executive arm the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), has officially launched the ‘Prime Minister’s IT Certification Reimbursement Program,’ offering IT graduates and tech professionals financial assistance of up to PKR 70,000 per candidate to bolster digital competencies across the country.

Under the newly unveiled initiative, eligible candidates will receive partial or full reimbursements for acquiring internationally recognized certifications in high-demand technological disciplines, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and advanced software engineering.

PSEB officials stated that the application and registration procedure has been deliberately streamlined via a dedicated online portal to facilitate rapid onboarding, enabling young professionals to upskill without facing prohibitive financial burdens.

The program forms a core component of the federal government’s broader economic roadmap aimed at expanding Pakistan’s digital footprint and bridging the widening gap between academic curricula and industry requirements.

By enabling local talent to secure globally benchmarked accreditations, authorities anticipate a substantial boost in the quality of the tech workforce, which in turn is expected to elevate national IT exports and attract increased foreign direct investment into the technology sector.

Interested candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to submit their credentials through the official PSEB web portal.

Officials confirmed that verification mechanisms will operate on an expedited timeline to ensure seamless fund disbursements, with plans already underway to expand the panel of accredited global certification bodies in subsequent phases of the project.
