Over 30,000 tourists visit parts of KP in single day

ISLAMABAD: The tourist influx at scenic spots of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was on rise as around 32,905 people from across the country visited various destinations in one day to enjoy the pleasant weather.

According to statistics issued daily by KP Integrated Tourism Development Project (KITE) revealed that Galiyat attracted 11,000 tourists, Kaghan and Naran 11,430, Malam Jabba7,350, Chitral Lower 1,520, Chitral Upper105, and Dir Upper 1,500.

Under the KITE Project, 4 Integrated Tourism Zones (ITZs) would be established in the province including Tandiani, Mankyal, Ghanol and Madakalasht, said KITEProgramme DirectorTauseef Khalid.  He said that the master planning of ITZs will promote sustainable tourism via effective management, adding that the hotel industry was doing a good business due to rise in summer tourism.

These zones would be constructed with a loan grant of USD 70 million of the World Bank. ITZs Thandyani and Mankiyal would be connected with Swat and Hazara motorways through link roads that would open up entire Malakand and Hazara for tourists and make Pakistan a hub of international tourism.
