Man Held Within 24 Hours for Knife Attack on Toddler

Rawalpindi: Police have arrested a suspect within 24 hours for allegedly attacking a one-and-a-half-year-old girl with a knife in Rawalpindi, officials said on Sunday.
According to a police spokesperson, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani took immediate notice of the incident and directed police to arrest the suspect without delay.
A case was registered on the complaint of police, while the injured child was shifted to a hospital, where she received medical treatment. Police said the girl is now out of danger.
The suspect was arrested following a coordinated operation carried out under the supervision of the SP (Saddar) and SHO Dhamial.

During initial interrogation, the accused, who is reportedly a relative of the victim’s mother, confessed to attempting to kill the child due to personal enmity, police claimed.
Authorities said efforts are underway to arrest any facilitators or accomplices involved in the crime.
CPO Hamdani said violence against children would not be tolerated under any circumstances and assured that the accused would be brought to justice under the law.
