Kuwait Revokes Citizenship of 12 Individuals Under Official Decrees

News Desk

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has officially stripped 12 individuals of their citizenship through four separate executive decrees, according to official notifications published in the state gazette, Kuwait Al-Youm.

The decision, which also extends to legal dependents of the affected individuals, marks the latest move by the Gulf state to enforce strict compliance regarding national status and citizenship regulations.

According to details released in the official gazette, the decisions were authorized following comprehensive audits conducted by the Supreme Committee for Investigating Kuwaiti Nationality.

Authorities cited non-compliance with statutory requirements, dual citizenship violations, and irregularities in documentation as primary grounds for the cancellation of nationality rights across the affected cases.

The action comes amid an intensified campaign by Kuwaiti authorities over recent months to review nationality files, resulting in hundreds of individuals losing their citizenship status.

Government officials maintain that the ongoing crackdown is vital for safeguarding national identity, maintaining administrative transparency, and protecting state resources from unauthorized claims.

Following the publication of the decrees, those stripped of citizenship face immediate administrative ramifications, including the loss of civil privileges, state subsidies, and public sector employment access.

The Ministry of Interior is expected to issue further notifications as investigative panels continue reviewing additional nationality cases nationwide.
