Jhang Student Dies After Alleged Gang Rape, Three Arrested

Jhang: The local police in Jhang have arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and gang rape of an 18-year-old intermediate student, Aishal Fatima, who later died during treatment after being found unconscious in critical condition.

According to police sources, the victim had gone missing four days ago, after which her family registered a disappearance case at the Satellite Town police station in Jhang.

During the investigation, police continued search operations from multiple angles. Officials said unknown persons brought the girl in an unconscious state to a private hospital in Jhang and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Hospital staff provided initial medical treatment before shifting her to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital due to her deteriorating condition. However, she could not survive and passed away during treatment.

Police said initial evidence and circumstances suggest the possibility of gang rape, though officials stressed that the final conclusions would depend on medical, forensic and investigation reports.

As the investigation progressed, police obtained CCTV footage allegedly showing the victim being brought to the private hospital in critical condition. Based on the footage and other evidence, three suspects identified as Haseeb, Umesh and Hassan have been taken into custody, while raids are underway to arrest another suspect, Khalil.

Police have also seized the vehicle allegedly used in the incident and said further investigations are in progress to collect additional evidence and determine all aspects of the case.

The tragic incident has sparked concern in the area, while the victim’s father has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure justice for his daughter.

Officials said the scope of the investigation has been expanded and all possible angles are being thoroughly examined.
