Islamabad Issues Traffic Plan as Foreign Delegations Arrive

Islamabad:The Islamabad authorities have issued a comprehensive alternative traffic plan in Islamabad in view of the arrival of foreign delegations in the federal capital, with several major roads and routes expected to face restrictions.
According to the traffic advisory, all heavy traffic entering Islamabad from any direction or highway will remain prohibited from 12:00 midnight until further notice.
The authorities have also announced the complete closure of all entry points to the Red Zone for all types of traffic, except through Marriott Road and Margalla Road.
Major Road Closures and Diversions
Traffic on Srinagar Highway will remain completely closed from Zero Point to Dhokari Chowk. In addition, traffic traveling from Koral to Faizabad via the Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road will be diverted to alternative routes.
Vehicles moving from Faisal Avenue towards Zero Point will be redirected to 9th Avenue.

In the event of the closure of Koral Chowk from the Zero Point side, commuters may reach Koral through Srinagar Highway using 9th Avenue via Stadium Road, Murree Road through Chandni Chowk, or Rawal Road.
If Club Road is closed from Park Road, traffic will be diverted towards Taramri Chowk.
Alternative Routes
Residents traveling from Bhara Kahu to Rawalpindi have been advised to use Korang Road, Bani Gala, and Lehtrar Road as alternative routes.
Similarly, commuters traveling from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad are advised to use Karnal Sher Khan Road via Faqir Aipi Road or 9th Avenue.
Heavy Traffic Advisory
Heavy vehicles traveling from Peshawar to Lahore via GT Road should use the Taxila-Motorway route through Chakri Interchange, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat GT Road.
Likewise, heavy traffic moving from Lahore towards Peshawar should travel through Rawat GT Road, Chak Beli Road, Chakri Interchange, and the Motorway via Taxila.
Public Information
The Islamabad Traffic Police have urged citizens to stay informed about traffic updates and road closures through their official WhatsApp channel, social media platforms, and ITP FM 92.4.
Authorities have advised residents to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience during the movement of foreign delegations.
