News Desk
LAHORE: Iqrar ul Hassan, the chief of Pakistan Awam Raj Tehreek, was reportedly abducted from his residence late last night, leaving his family and supporters in distress as his whereabouts remain unknown.
According to family members, the incident occurred around midnight when unidentified individuals forcibly entered their home and took Hassan away.
His family has expressed deep concern for his safety and is demanding immediate action from authorities to locate him. “We are terrified and have no idea where he is or why this happened,” a family spokesperson stated.
This incident raises serious concerns about the state of human rights and personal safety in Pakistan, particularly for political activists.
The abduction of a prominent figure like Hassan could have significant implications for political discourse and civil liberties in the country, as it may deter others from voicing dissent or engaging in political activities.
In response to the incident, local human rights organizations are calling for an investigation into the matter, urging the Punjab Police to take swift action to uncover the circumstances surrounding Hassan’s disappearance.
Activists plan to hold a protest in Lahore to demand accountability and the protection of political figures.
