Islamabad: Reports that former prime minister Imran Khan was being shifted to Shifa International Hospital for treatment quickly took an unexpected turn on social media, where users turned the serious development into a flood of humorous memes and viral posts.

As the news spread, social media users began imagining creative,  and often exaggerated, ways of getting close to the hospital, transforming the reported hospital transfer into a trending source of online humour.

One viral meme showed a user jokingly expressing a sudden desire to get himself admitted to the same hospital, while another humorously suggested taking up a job as a hospital sweeper simply for the chance to catch a glimpse of Khan.

The creativity did not stop there. One user shared a video showing himself apparently heading towards the hospital with fireworks displayed on a car, adding a celebratory twist to the situation.

Another viral post featured a scene from an Indian film, humorously edited to depict Imran Khan outside the hospital with a potato cart.
