IMF Mission Concludes Sindh Visit Ahead of Islamabad Talks

ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission has successfully concluded its official visit to Sindh and is scheduled to depart for Islamabad today to commence formal technical and policy-level negotiations starting September 28.
During its stay in the southern province, the visiting delegation held crucial consultative sessions with provincial authorities, reviewing fiscal performance, revenue generation targets, and the implementation status of structural benchmarks agreed upon under the ongoing financial arrangement.
The upcoming round of talks in the federal capital carries immense significance for Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability, as both sides evaluate the country’s adherence to fiscal consolidation paths, tax administration reforms, and energy sector adjustments crucial for unlocking subsequent tranches.
