How Will the Awaz App Help Protect Children in Pakistan?
News Desk
Islamabad: The Ministry of Human Rights, in partnership with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), has launched the Awaz App, a digital platform designed to enhance child protection and facilitate the timely reporting of human rights violations across Pakistan.
The mobile application allows citizens to report cases of missing or abducted children and other forms of human rights abuses directly to the authorities.
Once a report is submitted, the system automatically alerts relevant law enforcement agencies and coordinates with concerned departments and community organizations to ensure prompt response and recovery efforts.
According to the Ministry, the Awaz App provides a secure and responsive channel connecting citizens with authorities, promoting transparency and accountability in handling sensitive cases. Information shared through the platform is also circulated across media and social networks to raise public awareness and encourage community participation in locating missing children.
The application is currently available for Android users, with an iOS version under development.
Officials said the initiative represents a significant step toward protecting vulnerable groups, particularly children, and demonstrates the government’s continued commitment to upholding human rights and improving access to justice in Pakistan.
