Fazl Signals Street Agitation Against Govt’s Resource Policies

MANSEHRA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman announced on Tuesday that his party is prepared to initiate street agitation against the government’s policies, which he claims threaten the nation’s natural resources and democratic rights.

Addressing a workers convention, Rahman criticized the government for attempting to divide the populace and incite conflict to facilitate the exploitation of natural resources.

He emphasized, “We will never allow it to undermine democracy, politics, and the rights of people. JUI-F stands firm against such anti-people policies and actions.” His remarks come as he rallies support for a potential protest movement.

The political landscape shifted during the event as Malik Waheed, the former divisional president of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Hazara, announced his decision to join JUI-F, marking a significant political realignment.

Rahman urged his supporters to remain steadfast, declaring, “I see you as the strongest force in the country,” and called for unity against oppression.

As tensions rise, the implications of Rahman’s call for agitation could reverberate through Pakistan’s political arena, potentially mobilizing citizens against perceived governmental overreach.

Observers are keenly watching for forthcoming developments, including planned protests and the government’s response to this growing dissent.
