Deedar, Resham Trade Sharp Remarks in Public War of Words
News Desk
Lahore: A fresh war of words has erupted in Pakistan’s entertainment industry as veteran actresses Deedar and Resham publicly traded sharp accusations, reigniting debate over rivalries in showbiz.
The latest controversy began during an Eid special television show, where Deedar levelled serious allegations against Resham, describing her as having a “negative personality” and claiming she had adversely affected the lives of several people.
She also said her personal experience with Resham had been unpleasant, cautioning others, particularly close associates, to keep their distance.
Resham, however, hit back strongly in a separate programme, dismissing the claims as driven by jealousy. She asserted that her career was far from over and suggested that her growing public welfare efforts, including running langar (free meal services), had become a source of envy.

In a pointed rebuttal, Resham criticised Deedar’s identity, claiming it was tied to her family rather than her own achievements. She further remarked that despite decades of work, some artists fail to establish an independent identity, leading to frustration and resentment.
“Those who think positively speak well of others, while negativity only breeds criticism,” Resham said, taking a broader swipe at her rival.
The public spat has quickly gained traction on social media, with fans and industry observers divided as they rally behind their preferred star.
The exchange has once again highlighted the competitive undercurrents within Pakistan’s showbiz industry, where personal rivalries often spill into the public domain.
