Quetta: Health officials have confirmed the presence of the Congo virus in Quetta as of Tuesday.

Officials at Fatima Jinnah Chest Hospital reported that an 18-year-old patient named Nusrat, hailing from the border town of Chaman, has been admitted to the facility.

Lab reports sent for confirmation of the deadly virus have returned positive, prompting the hospital to shift the patient to the isolation ward for treatment and monitoring.

Health authorities are closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions to prevent further spread.
