Benazir Income Support Program Offers Free SIMs to Beneficiary Women

ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has initiated a new scheme providing free SIM cards to its female beneficiaries, aimed at facilitating digital payments through e-wallets. This initiative, announced on September 29, 2026, is part of the government’s efforts to enhance financial inclusion among women in Pakistan.

According to BISP officials, the free SIMs will enable beneficiaries to receive their payments directly into their e-wallets, streamlining the disbursement process. A spokesperson stated, “This move is designed to empower women economically and ensure they have direct access to their funds in a secure manner.” The program is expected to significantly reduce the barriers women face in accessing financial services.
