Archbishop Exhorts Christian Community To Contribute in Development
News Desk
Islamabad: Archbishop of Rawalpindi and Islamabad Dr Joseph Arshad urged the Pakistani Christian community to come together and aid the suffering people of the world, and in particular to make efforts to contribute to the development and prosperity of the nation and spread love and peace throughout society as Christmas (December 25) draws near.
He quoted a Bible verse to say, “For to us a child is born, To us, a son is given. And the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Is 9:6).
Archbishop stated, “Christmas is also about repentance and forgiveness. We are commanded to remember at Christmas that Jesus was born in a manger among the poorest of people and animals.
The impoverished and suffering are where you and I are supposed to look for the face of Christ.”
Unfortunately, the nation has experienced severe floods this year that have affected millions of people and resulted in the loss of life, property, and animals.
We keep working to assist those who have been impacted; many are still facing problems with their jobs, health, finances, housing, and a host of other problems. As a result, we ought to use all of God’s benefits to reach out and assist others.
In his Christmas message, Dr Joseph said, “Let’s pray together for the suffering people of the globe, asking that there be peace, love, and hope both in our country and throughout the entire planet.
I sincerely pray for each person, send them God’s blessings, and wish them a blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year.”
