ANF Arrests 10 in Multi-City Anti-Drug Operations

Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested 10 suspected drug traffickers and recovered 487.31 kilograms of narcotics worth more than PKR 38.2 million during seven operations conducted in different parts of the country, an ANF spokesperson said on Friday.
The operations targeted both international drug smuggling attempts and domestic narcotics trafficking.
At Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar, ANF officials recovered 1.96 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) from the luggage of three passengers, including two women, who were travelling to Jeddah. All three suspects were arrested.
In another operation at Islamabad International Airport, officials seized 6.55 kilograms of crystal meth soaked into clothing packed inside the luggage of three passengers bound for Jeddah. The accused were taken into custody before boarding their flight.
During domestic operations, ANF recovered 410.4 kilograms of hashish from a truck near Ring Road in Peshawar and arrested the driver.
In Lahore, 25.2 kilograms of hashish were seized from a rickshaw near Multan Road, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
At a courier office on Spinny Road in Quetta, ANF intercepted a parcel containing 19.2 kilograms of hashish concealed inside a fibre box.
In Jamshoro, officials recovered 18 kilograms of hashish from a truck near the Indus Highway and arrested one suspect.
Meanwhile, another six kilograms of hashish were seized from a passenger near the National Highway in Hyderabad, where the suspect was also taken into custody.
The ANF said separate cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
