AJK Experiences Severe Cold

Mirpur: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), particularly the Mirpur division, has experienced severe cold since early Wednesday.

According to an official, Muzaffarabad witnessed a 1. °C drop in minimum temperature on Saturday, intensifying the cold conditions. Mirpur and surrounding areas grappled with dense fog, with temperatures hovering at 3.0 degrees Celsius, affecting daily life.

The picturesque city experienced drizzling late Tuesday and Wednesday, further chilling the weather. The higher mountainous regions of AJK faced freezing temperatures, dropping to minus 3.0 degrees Celsius.

Across the Line of Control in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, temperatures increased after a brief spell of drizzle early Wednesday, as reported. The Meteorological department forecasts rain and snowfall in Srinagar and adjoining areas within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded an overnight minimum temperature of approximately minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, as per the report.
