The Chinese woman was performing tricks with her husband during the show but the husband failed to catch her by the legs. As a result of which the woman fell from a terrifying height of more than 30 feet. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
“We have always been happy together. I cannot reveal any specific details at this time,” said her late husband Zhang Momo.
The video of the terrifying moment went viral on Chinese social media, with many users questioning why the woman was not wearing a safety belt. Why was there no safety equipment on the ground? Many consumers called for stricter regulations and better protection for the acrobatic industry.
The local government issued a statement saying that the incident is being investigated.
The show was hosted by a local farm business owner who contracted a media company to run the show, the statement said.
The investigation revealed that the company not only did not get approval from the authorities but also failed to provide the necessary safety and emergency measures for the performers, violating the rules and regulations by using a crane in the show.
It should be noted that both the husband and wife were experienced artists, having worked together for many years.
The moment screams were heard from the audience, it became clear that something had gone wrong, and the show was cancelled shortly after.
