Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Killing Wife

Attock: The District and Sessions Judge of Attock has sentenced Jannat Gull, an Afghan national, to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Kalsoom Bibi.
In addition to the life sentence, the judge has imposed a fine of Rs. 500,000 to be paid to the victim’s family as damages. Should Gull fail to pay the fine, he will face an additional six months in prison.
The crime occurred in October 2022 in Jehan Banda village, Ghourghushti, Tehsil Hazro, where Gull fatally shot his wife, a mother of four, over a domestic dispute.
Following the incident, Hazro Police registered a case under Sections 302, 324, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code based on a complaint filed by the victim’s daughter.
The police later apprehended Gull, who was subsequently tried and convicted based on witness testimonies, evidence, and other proofs presented during the trial.
District and Sessions Judge Asad Ali delivered the verdict, ensuring justice for the affected family.
