18 Trapped in Balochistan Coal Mine Explosion

Harnai: Eighteen workers are trapped following a devastating gas explosion that occurred in a mine located in the Harnai area of Balochistan on Wednesday.
According to the details, 10 miners were initially trapped underground due to the explosion, and eight more workers became stuck while attempting to aid in the evacuation efforts.
Reports indicate that 8 miners have been successfully rescued from the coal mine, while the bodies of 4 miners have tragically been recovered. Efforts are underway to rescue the remaining 6 miners who are trapped at a depth of 1000 feet.
The Chief Mines Inspector has confirmed these details and stated that the rescue operation is ongoing. Furthermore, the Directorate General of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (DGPDMA) has dispatched two teams to assist in the efforts in Harnai.
Responding to the incident, the Chief Minister of Balochistan has instructed authorities to expedite the rescue operation and has requested a comprehensive report on the situation.
PM Mourns Loss of Lives in Harnai Mine Accident
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed grief over the loss of lives consequent to an explosion inside a coal mine in Harnai district of Balochistan.
He prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed souls and sympathized with the bereaved family members.
The prime minister instructed the authorities concerned to accelerate the rescue operation for the trapped miners and extend all possible medical treatment to those injured.
“Such incidents are extremely painful and saddening. We stand by the victim families in this hour of grief.
The government will provide maximum possible relief to the injured and the affected families,” Prime Minister Shehbaz remarked.
