Woman Injured in Gas Leak Blast, Boy Rescued from Well

Rawalpindi: Swift response by rescue teams helped save lives in two separate emergencies reported in Rawalpindi district on Sunday, where a woman was injured in a gas explosion while a young boy was rescued after falling into a deep well, officials said.
According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the first incident occurred in Gulraiz Phase-2, where a gas leakage triggered an explosion inside a house, injuring a 45-year-old woman.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call and provided first aid to the injured woman, identified as Sakeena, before shifting her to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Officials said the blast was caused by accumulated gas inside the house.

In a separate incident reported from Sadat Colony near GT Road in Wah Cantt, a 12-year-old boy fell into a dry well estimated to be around 20 to 25 feet deep.
Rescue 1122 teams, along with an ambulance and rescue vehicle, immediately reached the site and launched an operation to retrieve the child. Rescuers successfully pulled the boy, identified as Umar, out of the well and administered initial medical treatment on the spot.
The child sustained a fracture in his femur and was later shifted to a hospital for further care.
Rescue officials confirmed that both victims survived the incidents and were receiving medical treatment.
