Why Saba Qamar’s Latest Look Has Everyone Talking
News Desk
Islamabad: Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, widely regarded as one of the country’s most versatile and fearless performers, has once again found herself at the centre of public discussion — this time over her wardrobe choices in a recently aired television drama.
Over the years, Saba has built an acclaimed body of work across television and film, earning praise for her emotionally layered performances in dramas such as Baaghi, Cheekh, Digest Writer, Sangat and Sar-e-Raah.
Her more recent projects, including Fraud and ‘Tumhare Husn Ke Naam’, further cemented her reputation for taking on complex and unconventional roles.
Currently, audiences are applauding her performances in the popular dramas Case No. 9 and Pamaal. She has also drawn attention for her role in the newly launched Hum TV series Muamma, where she appears in a character markedly different from her previous portrayals.
While her acting in Muamma has been widely appreciated, a particular episode sparked debate on social media after Saba appeared in a golden sleeveless net saree paired with a short, fitted blouse.
Around the same time, images from a bold photoshoot featuring the actor in a sleek, body-hugging metallic gown went viral, further fuelling online discussion.
The two appearances triggered mixed reactions across digital platforms. While many fans defended the actor’s confidence and artistic expression, others criticised what they described as overly bold dressing for television.
Several users expressed concern over what they perceive as shifting norms in Pakistani dramas, urging actors and television channels to maintain traditional sensibilities. Others, however, argued that fashion and personal expression should not overshadow an actor’s craft or creative freedom.
Saba Qamar has not publicly responded to the controversy so far.
