Islamabad: In today’s modern world, fighter jets play a crucial role in the defense strategies of nations, serving as the backbone of their air forces.
Beyond sheer numbers, the capabilities of these aircraft extend to airspace surveillance, defense, and control, making them essential assets for national security.
According to the Global Firepower 2024 report, the United States leads the pack with the largest number of fighter jets, boasting 1,854 aircraft.
Following closely behind is China, with 1,207 fighter jets. Russia holds the third position with 809 fighter jets, while India and North Korea possess 606 and 440 fighter jets, respectively.
In the rankings provided by the Global Firepower report, Pakistan secures the sixth position, possessing 387 fighter jets. Meanwhile, South Korea maintains a fleet of 354 fighter jets.
These numbers underscore the significance of fighter jet capabilities in maintaining air superiority and defending national interests in the contemporary geopolitical landscape.
