Using AI Tools in Google Maps

News Desk

Islamabad: Google, the internet technology titan, has commenced trials of incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) tools into its Maps platform.

According to a blog post by Google, the initial testing of AI tools is confined to the United States, focusing primarily on tour guide functionalities.

These AI enhancements bring significant changes to Google Maps.

Now, when users seek information about a specific location or topic within any city on Maps, the platform promptly furnishes the necessary details.

For instance, if a newcomer arrives in Karachi and seeks information about historical buildings, AI tools will showcase the locations, details, and images of all historical landmarks in the city. Similarly, searches for parks, shopping centers, or similar venues will yield comprehensive information, including photos and user reviews.

Moreover, users can delve deeper into any building or location by accessing additional information through a question-and-answer format.

This feature enables users to obtain details about various structures, places, and landmarks within minutes.

Following the successful trial period in the US, Google plans to roll out this feature to other countries worldwide, with a potential global release expected by the end of the year.
