US Urges Israel to Permit Palestinians’ Ramazan Worship at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Islamabad: The United States (US) has urged Israel to permit Muslims to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem during Ramazan.
According to a report from Arab News, Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the State Department, addressed questions from journalists, stating, “We have been urging Israel to adhere to past practices and grant peaceful worshippers access to mosques during Ramazan.”
He emphasized the significance of this action, stating, “This isn’t just about moral principles or ensuring people’s right to religious freedom; it’s also crucial for Israel’s security.”
Miller further emphasized that escalating tensions in the West Bank would not serve Israel’s security interests. Israel is currently deliberating on how to facilitate worship in Jerusalem during the Ramazan period.
