US Receives Intelligence on Iranian Plot to Assassinate Trump
News Desk
Islamabad: The United States has recently obtained intelligence regarding an Iranian plan to assassinate former President Donald Trump, according to a report by CNN.
The news channel cited several sources who confirmed this information.
The Secret Service, responsible for Trump’s security, has reportedly taken measures in response to the discovery of the assassination plot.
Despite these precautions, an unrelated incident occurred last weekend when a young man managed to open fire on the Republican presidential candidate. Trump sustained facial injuries from ricocheting glass shards.
CNN emphasized that this attack was not connected to the Iranian plot.
It remains unclear whether Trump’s campaign team was aware of the Iranian threat.
According to CNN, the Secret Service had repeatedly advised Trump to avoid organizing outdoor rallies due to security challenges.
Iran has previously expressed a desire for revenge following the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike during Trump’s presidency.
Officially, Iran denies having plans to kill the former president but has stated its intention to capture and try him.
