Two Transgender Persons Fatally Stabbed in Mardan

Mardan: A tragic incident unfolded in the Mardan city of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday where two transgender individuals were allegedly brutally murdered with a knife at Naya Adda in Balakhana. 

This heinous crime has instilled fear and anxiety in the community, raising serious concerns about the safety of transgender individuals.

According to police reports, the local police arrived at the scene following the incident and shifted the victims’ bodies to DHQ Hospital after completing the necessary legal formalities.

The deceased have been identified as Sabir, alias Nazuk, a resident of Bakshali, and Suleman, alias Sulmano (from Bijli Ghar).

Both victims were prominent figures in their community, and their shocking and violent deaths have ignited a wave of grief and outrage throughout the region.

Preliminary investigations suggest that both transgender individuals were mercilessly attacked with knives.

The motives behind these murders remain unclear, and police are pursuing leads. The police officials have assured the public that the perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice soon.

In the aftermath of the incident, the transgender community is experiencing profound grief and anger. Already vulnerable to social discrimination and prejudice, such violent acts further jeopardize their safety and well-being.
