Two Missing Men Found Dead, Woman Drinks Acid

Faisalabad/Sargodha/ Nowshera: In a series of unfortunate incidents across Pakistan, two missing persons were found dead, a youth lost his life in a road accident, and a woman is in critical condition after accidentally ingesting acid.

In Faisalabad, the body of a 40-year-old man, identified as Zafar, a resident of Chak No. 334-JB, was recovered from the Jhang Branch Canal on Monday. According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, passersby spotted the body floating near 83 Pulli and alerted the authorities. Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and retrieved the body.

Zafar, who was reported to have mental health issues, had reportedly jumped into the canal near Dandewal Bridge on Jhang Road. After completing necessary formalities, Rescue 1122 handed over the body to his relatives.

In Sargodha, the body of Rafaqat Hayyat, son of Zafar Iqbal, who had been missing for several days, was discovered near the Balkasar interchange in the jurisdiction of Bhera police station on Monday. Local police responded to the scene and transported the body to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Bhera for an autopsy.

In another tragic incident, a young man, identified as Tasawar Abbas from Mari village, lost his life in a road accident near Chak No. 39 NB on Monday. According to rescue sources, the youth was riding a motorcycle when he was struck by a speeding tractor-trolley. He died instantly from the impact. The police have registered a case against the driver and handed over the body to the victim’s family.

In Nowshera Virkan, a 22-year-old woman, identified as Anishane, is in critical condition after accidentally ingesting acid, mistaking it for cough syrup, on Monday.

The incident occurred in Mauza Khan Muslim. Initially, she was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, but her condition worsened, and she was later transferred to the District Hospital in Gujranwala for advanced treatment.

The police are investigating the incident, and Anishane has confirmed in her statement that the ingestion was accidental. Doctors are providing her with necessary medical care.
