Islamabad: The Pakistan Tourism Development Authority (PTDC) on Friday strongly advised tourists visiting Punjab’s historic and religious sites to prioritise safety measures in light of the ongoing dense fog conditions.

The advisory was issued by the National Highways and Motorways Police, signalling widespread fog across the province.

The provincial government has taken emergency measures to safeguard lives, announcing a holiday for educational institutions and closing markets on Saturday, the official added. Emphasizing safety, the government has urged tourists to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel, cautioning about potential health risks associated with smog.

It is worth mentioning here that, as a preventive measure, officials have closed motorways during foggy nighttime hours to avert accidents and protect tourists’ lives. Travelers are advised to complete their journeys and reach destinations before fog sets in, while also using fog lights in vehicles to mitigate potential incidents.

Pakistan, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and diverse beauty, remains a hidden gem in the global tourism realm. From majestic mountains to serene valleys, arid deserts, and lush green plains, the country offers an array of experiences for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers.
