Tragic Gas Leak Claims 11 Miners

Quetta: At least 11 miners tragically lost their lives due to the accumulation of lethal gases in a coal mine located in Sanjadi, Balochistan.
Officials have confirmed that the cause of death for all miners was suffocation resulting from carbon monoxide (CO) emissions.
Rescue teams tirelessly worked to retrieve the bodies of the miners, which have been transported to a nearby medical facility.
The deceased miners, originally from KP’s Swat, will be repatriated to their families in Swat.
A spokesperson for the Balochistan government confirmed that a preliminary report from the Department of Mines and Minerals attributed the deaths to toxic gas accumulation.
Among the victims were nine workers, one contractor, and one mine manager.
Expressing profound condolences to the families of the victims, officials stated that the entire community mourns this tragic incident.
The provincial government has promptly launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident and to implement measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
Emphasizing the paramount importance of miner safety, the government underscored the urgent necessity for stricter safety protocols within the mining industry.
