Traffic Police Fined Over 700 Bikers

Abbottabad: The traffic police imposed fines on 758 motorcyclists for traffic violations during their campaign against offenders engaged in various violations, including riders without helmets, motorbikes without number plates, vehicles with tinted windows, and those bearing illegal decorations.
Following the directives of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara Aijaz Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Arif Javaid Khan and the traffic police, in collaboration with the district police, conducted extensive checks targeting various breaches on Monday.
As a result of these operations, 758 motorcyclists without helmets and underage drivers were intercepted, and a total of 523/550 motorcycles were impounded.
In another crackdown, 132 motorcycles bearing fake registration numbers were also confiscated under Section 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The raid also included vehicles with tinted windows, which led to 890 vehicles being thoroughly inspected. The owners of any vehicles found to have tinted windows were liable for prompt removal and hefty fines.
Discipline measures against 789 vehicles for illegal vehicle decorations, such as the unauthorised use of police lights, flashy license plates, and hooters, further highlight the authorities’ dedication to upholding traffic regulations and ensuring road safety.
