TikTok’s Crackdown: 1.85 Crore Videos Deleted from Pakistani Accounts

Islamabad: TikTok’s latest Community Guidelines Implementation Report for the final quarter of 2023 reveals significant actions taken to maintain a safe environment on the platform.
Within this period, over 1.85 million videos were removed in Pakistan alone for violations, constituting a part of the global deletion count surpassing 18 million videos.
The reasons for removal are consistent with platform policies, focusing on content that denigrates or harms individuals, particularly videos featuring violence.
The report highlights a total of 176,461,963 videos deleted worldwide during October to December 2023. Notably, these deletions represented around 1.0 percent of all uploaded content, with a substantial portion removed automatically.
Review processes also played a role, resulting in the removal of 8,038,106 videos post-review.
For Pakistan specifically, 18,596,077 videos were flagged and removed for guideline violations during this timeframe. These figures underscore TikTok’s commitment to upholding community standards and ensuring user safety across its platform.
The latest report from TikTok underscores its proactive approach not only in addressing guideline violations but also in combating spam accounts and content.
The platform employs preventative measures to automatically thwart the creation of spam accounts, demonstrating its commitment to maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
Remarkably, nearly 95.3 percent of videos breaching guidelines were swiftly removed within 24 hours of upload, reflecting TikTok’s dedication to prompt action.
In a bid to safeguard young users, TikTok took action against 19,848,855 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13, emphasizing its focus on protecting vulnerable demographics.
