Islamabad: The return journey of expatriates on Eid may be affected by weather changes, according to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Passengers coming to Lahore from Liaquatpur and Bahawalpur should take special precautions. DG Irfan Ali Kathia directed that the district administration should be on 24-hour alert.
Roads in landslide-affected areas should be restored as quickly as possible.
All rescue agencies are in touch with PDMA. Citizens should contact PDMA’s helpline 1129 in emergencies.
PDMA Balochistan reported seven deaths from lightning and roof collapses in Balochistan. Approximately 15 houses have been damaged in Pishin, Hana, Orak, and Chashma.
Flood relays have closed roads in Achakzai, but they have been restored. Seven people trapped in flood relays were rescued in the Tampa, Kech area.
Water continues to intermittently flow at Panjara Bridge in Dara Bolan. The PDMA instructed citizens and tourists not to travel unnecessarily.
Rain Prediction for Sindh
Rain with wind is forecasted in various Sindh cities, including Karachi, today. Weather forecasters predict wind and rain in Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, and other Sindh places today (Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday). Additionally, a westerly weather system is affecting Northeast Balochistan. PDMA previously reported 13 deaths from lightning strikes in districts like Rahim Yar Khan and Lodhran.
Lightning struck a village in Rahim Yar Khan, killing a husband and wife, Hafeez and Kulsoom, and two children in Rukanpur settlement.
Similarly, in Lodhran, a woman working in the fields was tragically killed by a lightning strike during rain. Additionally, four people lost their lives due to lightning strikes in various areas of Balochistan yesterday.
Furthermore, 10 individuals were trapped in flood relays following rains in Turbat.
