Rawalpindi: At least three persons were killed in a gas leakage incident that took place in a house of a private residential society of Rawalpindi, private news channels, quoting Rescue 1122 sources. reported on Tuesday.
According to initial reports, three women tragically lost their lives in a gas leakage incident that took place in a house of a private residential society of Rawalpindi. A woman was also found unconscious in the same incident.
The Rescue team after receiving reports rushed to the site to transfer the dead to hospital. Further investigations are underway.
Several killed, others injured in separate accidents

Islamabad: Several people were killed and others injured in separate road accidents and domestic incidents reported from different parts of Punjab and Sindh on Tuesday, with dense fog and negligence cited as major causes.
In Sargodha, three people, including at least two women, were killed when a passenger bus collided with a motorcycle in Chota Sahiwal area due to dense fog early Tuesday morning. Rescue officials said the bus, travelling at high speed amid poor visibility, struck the motorcycle, leaving it completely wrecked.
All three victims died on the spot. Their bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for legal formalities, while police launched an investigation into the incident.
In another fog-related accident, five vehicles collided on the motorway near Karimabad (Nawabshah) in Sindh. According to Motorway Police, the accident involved three passenger buses and occurred due to low visibility caused by dense fog. More than ten passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to Taluka Headquarters Hospital, Qazi Ahmed, for treatment.
Meanwhile, in Bahawalpur, one person was killed and another injured when a loader rickshaw transporting animals overturned on the National Highway in the Jhangra area. Rescue 1122 officials said the accident occurred after a chaddar became entangled in the vehicle’s chain, causing it to overturn. The driver died on the spot, while the injured passenger was provided first aid and shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
In a separate incident in Sheikhupura, a man died of suffocation while his wife fell unconscious due to gas leakage from a heater in the Sukhawala area. Police said gas accumulated in a closed room after the heater was left on, leading to oxygen deprivation. The deceased was identified as Riaz Bhatti, while his wife Amna was shifted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore, in critical condition.
In Gujrat, a 27-year-old man was killed after being crushed by a tractor trolley in Domanian village near Mangowal. According to officials, Ali Hamza was attempting to fix a malfunctioning jack during the offloading of cement when the jack’s pipe burst, causing the trolley to collapse on him. Rescue 1122 shifted his body to a nearby hospital, later handing it over to the family after legal formalities.
Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution during foggy conditions, follow safety protocols on roads, and ensure proper use of gas appliances to prevent such tragedies.
CM grieved over loss of lives in Arifwala fire incident
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic loss of a mother and her two daughters in a fire incident in Arifwala.
The chief minister extended her heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them in this hour of grief.
She also directed the concerned authorities to ensure a strict ban on the sale and purchase of substandard gas cylinders, stressing that all necessary measures must be taken to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
