Three killed, 11 injured in road accident near Bhera Toll Plaza

Sargodha: Three people, including the bus driver, were killed and at least 11 others, including women and children, sustained injuries in a collision between a private bus and a 12-wheeler truck near the Bhera Toll Plaza late Wednesday night.

According to Rescue 1122 sources here on Thursday, a Skyways bus was traveling from Lahore to Islamabad along the M-2 Motorway when it collided with a 12-wheeler truck near the toll plaza. The crash resulted in the on-the-spot deaths of three individuals—Muhammad Ehsan (25) from Mansehra, Muhammad Arif (50), the bus driver from Lahore, and Aysha Sherwali (22) from Talagang.

The injured were identified as Asad Yasin (35) of Lahore, Khizar Ahmed (28) of Lahore, Rida Bibi (24), wife of Khizar Ahmed, Muhammad Zubair (2), son of Khizar, Nasir (50) of Lahore, Abdul Rehman (34) of Rawalpindi, Beenish (35) of Rawalpindi, Saqib (38), son of Arshad, of Lahore, Hafeez (35), son of Ashraf, of Lahore, Manzoor (47), son of Khadim Hussain, of Layyah, and Tahir Iqbal (56), son of Azhar Ali, of Azad Jammu and sKashmir.

Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the spot and shifted the injured passengers to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Bhera for medical treatment. Police have initiated legal proceedings and are investigating the cause of the accident.

According to Rescue 1122, Abdullah, son of Muhammad Boota and resident of Jamke Cheema, was reportedly traveling on the wrong side of the road when his motorcycle collided with a dumper truck coming from Daska. He sustained severe head and abdominal injuries along with fractures to both legs and died on the spot.

Rescue officials shifted the body to THQ Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Four drug peddlers held, huge quantity of narcotics seized

NOWSHERA VIRKAN, Nov 13 (APP): The police on Thursday arrested four suspects during separate patrolling operations and recovered a total of 4.2 kilograms of narcotics from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, during a crackdown on drug dealers, a team arrested Asghar Ali and seized 1,240 grams of heroin from him. In another operation, Khalid Javed was apprehended with 1,440 grams of hashish.

Another police team arrested Muhammad Iqbal and recovered 300 grams of heroin, while Yousaf Hussain was caught with 1,480 grams of hashish.

Police have registered separate cases against all four accused and launched further investigations.
