‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ Crosses 400 Crore Mark Globally

Islamabad: Film producer Ammara Hikmat revealed that her film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ has surpassed over Rs 400 crore worldwide. The blockbuster was released on October 13 last year and has been labelled as the greatest Pakistani film to date.
The producer shared the exciting news on her Instagram handle about her magnum opus’ continued success and enormous box office earnings.
In its fourth week of release, the cult-classic thriller had become the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time at the global box office. Previously, the movie broke other records and already had a long list of accolades to its name, such as being the highest-grossing Pakistani movie, the second-highest-grossing movie in the UK for 2022 and the most-watched South Asian movie in Norway.
One of the biggest releases to come out of Pakistan, ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ was released in 25 different countries with over 500 screens. The phenomenal reception to the movie has resulted in full-house screenings around the world and lines outside the theatres, with exhibitors regularly booking additional screenings to accommodate consumer demand.
Standing ovations have been recorded at movie theatres all over the world because of how highly the movie has been praised. Every day, more theatres are adding screens for the film.
A reboot of Yunus Malik’s 1979 cult classic ‘Maula Jutt’, the film is a re-telling of the story of the rivalry between Maula Jatt and Noori Natt. From times untold, where legends are written in soil with blood, a hero is born. Maula Jatt, a fierce prizefighter with a tortured past, seeks vengeance against his arch nemesis, Noori Natt, the most feared warrior in the land of Punjab.
Directed by Lashari, the film also stars Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Nayyer Ejaz, Shafqat Cheema, Raheela Agha, Zia Khan, and Saima Baloch.
