Emphasizing national unity, he appealed for simple celebrations this year, highlighting peace, security, and national cohesion as top priorities.
The Pakistan Hindu Council also supported this call for restraint. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Patron-in-Chief of the council and Member of the National Assembly, endorsed President Asif Ali Zardari’s appeal to limit large gatherings due to prevailing regional tensions.
He described the President’s guidance as timely and responsible, stressing that prioritizing national security and citizen safety is a shared responsibility.
Dr Vankwani directed the council to review Holi preparations nationwide, urging community representatives to avoid large-scale events and cooperate fully with local authorities.
He expressed hope that this year’s celebrations would reflect peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony, noting that restraint and collective responsibility are essential under the current circumstances.
Through these messages, Pakistani leaders and community representatives sought to reinforce Holi’s essence as a festival that not only celebrates colors and joy but also strengthens unity, peace, and the spirit of coexistence in the country.
