Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday released updated details of Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq, stating that Afghan Taliban forces have suffered significant losses in ongoing counterattacks by Pakistan’s armed forces.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Tarar said that 464 Afghan Taliban personnel have been killed and more than 665 injured since the launch of the operation. He described the military campaign as a “befitting response” to terrorism and what he termed unprovoked aggression from across the border.
According to the minister, 188 Afghan Taliban check posts have been destroyed, while Pakistani forces have captured 31 posts.
He further claimed that 192 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery guns belonging to the Afghan Taliban regime had been destroyed, and that 56 locations inside Afghanistan were targeted through airstrikes.

Security sources said that the Pakistan Army carried out a successful airstrike on the Khogani base in Nangarhar province. They added that ground and air operations remain underway against the Afghan Taliban and what officials described as Fitna al-Khawarij. An ammunition depot and drone storage facility were also reportedly destroyed in Jalalabad.
In a separate development, security officials stated that Pakistani forces foiled an infiltration attempt in the Thal sector on the night between March 2 and 3.
Following the clash, the Pakistan Army captured an Afghan Taliban post in Paktika and hoisted the Pakistani flag there. Three additional Taliban posts were also destroyed during the operation, according to security sources.
Officials claimed that several foreign fighters were among those killed in the counterattacks. They emphasized that Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq will continue until its stated objectives are achieved.
The operation was launched in response to what Pakistan describes as unprovoked Afghan Taliban aggression along the Pak-Afghan border on the night of February 26.
Pakistani forces have since conducted retaliatory strikes at multiple locations inside Afghanistan, including reported targets in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia, destroying what officials called military installations and check posts.
Authorities maintain that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to respond firmly to any cross-border aggression.
