Suspect Held in F-9 Park Minor Girl Assault Case

Islamabad: Islamabad police have reported the apprehension of a suspect allegedly involved in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl at F-9 Park, Islamabad.

The arrested individual has been identified as Sajid Ali.

An FIR under Section 376-PPC has been registered against him in the Margalla police station, a public relations officer of Islamabad police said on Wednesday.

Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, took immediate notice of the incident and issued directions to ensure the arrest of the accused on a priority basis.

A special investigation team was formed under the supervision of the SSP (Investigation). 

According to the police, the alleged suspect managed to flee from the crime scene, but the police team after using the latest technology traced him and put him behind bars. 

The senior police officers appreciated the performance of the police team and emphasized that crimes of this nature against women and children are utterly unacceptable and that those responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
