‘Succession Certificates Now Available from Any Province’

Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has significantly simplified the process for obtaining Succession Certificates, making it more accessible for citizens across the country.
According to an official notification, legal heirs can now submit applications for succession certificates at any of the 186 dedicated Succession Facilitation Units (SFUs) established at NADRA centers and other designated locations throughout Pakistan including Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan regardless of where the inherited property is located.

This marks a major shift from the previous requirement, which limited applicants to filing only in the province where the property was situated — a process that often caused logistical challenges for heirs living in other regions.
In addition, NADRA has further streamlined the biometric verification process. Legal heirs can now complete verification either at their nearest NADRA center or remotely using the Pak ID mobile application, enhancing both convenience and accessibility.
While biometric verification via the mobile app was introduced earlier, the submission of applications was still restricted by provincial jurisdiction. The newly announced reforms remove that limitation, allowing citizens to initiate and complete the succession certificate process from anywhere in the country.
A NADRA spokesperson confirmed that official instructions have been circulated to all centers with SFUs, enabling citizens to avail themselves of the improved service at their nearest or preferred location.
