SRK’s daughter Suhana faces legal trouble over Alibaug land deal

Islamabad: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, has landed in legal trouble following reports of irregularities in her purchase of agricultural land in Alibaug, Maharashtra, Indian media said.
Suhana, who is set to make her big-screen debut in King, reportedly bought a plot worth ₹12.91 crore in Thal village, Alibaug. The land, however, had originally been allocated by the government for farming and was reserved strictly for agricultural use.
According to reports, the property was purchased from three sisters — Anjali, Rekha, and Priya — who had inherited it from their parents. Suhana allegedly paid ₹77.46 lakh as stamp duty at the time of registration.
Officials revealed that Suhana was listed as a “farmer” in the registered documents, raising questions over the legality of the deal. The land is registered under Deja Vu Farm Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Suhana’s grandmother (Gauri Khan’s mother) and her sister-in-law.
Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh has directed the Alibag Tehsildar to prepare an unbiased report on the matter.
Multiple purchases in Alibaug
This was Suhana’s first land deal in Alibaug. Within a year, she reportedly acquired another beachfront property worth ₹10 crore, bringing her total investment in the area to around ₹22 crore (2023–24).
The scrutiny has sparked questions over whether rules that restrict non-farmers from purchasing agricultural land in Maharashtra were bypassed. Authorities are now reviewing the transactions to determine if any laws were violated.
