SIUT Showcases Real Patient Stories in New Series

Karachi: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has premiered Pakistan’s first healthcare-focused web series, “Precision Meets Purpose,” at Neuplex Cinemas in Karachi.
This groundbreaking project highlights real patient journeys—citizens who arrive at SIUT with severe and complex illnesses and undergo advanced robotic surgeries that transform their lives, according to a press release issued here Sunday.
Rooted in authenticity and patient narratives, the web series sparks a nationwide dialogue on healthcare accessibility, emphasizing that world-class treatment options must be available to every person in need.
The series reflects SIUT’s unwavering commitment to medical innovation and its pioneering legacy in introducing and adapting cutting-edge technologies. Today, SIUT stands as a national center of excellence in robotic surgery, continually raising the standards of patient care.
Dr. Adib Rizvi, founder and Director of SIUT, noted in the documentary that SIUT must “keep its eyes open all the time, because science is not static; it is dynamic.”
He added that with determination and openness to new frontiers, learning never stops. “The provision of facilities is a shared responsibility between us and the public,” he said.

Dr. Irfan Rizvi, Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Virginia Hospital Center (USA) and Executive Producer of the series, highlighted that technology must be adopted when it improves patient outcomes.
He stressed the importance of integrating such advancements into public hospitals, where most of the population seeks care, to ensure equitable access for everyone.
Dr. Rehan Mohsin, Head of Robotic Surgery at SIUT, noted that SIUT is a pioneer in robotic surgery in Pakistan, having performed over 4,000 procedures across a wide range of specialties. Robotic-assisted surgeries, he said, significantly reduce the chances of complications compared to traditional open procedures, offering patients safer and more efficient treatment options.

Conceived by Saima Saleem and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jami, the series marks a major milestone in medical storytelling in Pakistan.
