7 Afghans Among 65 Held in ICT Police Operation

Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Tuesday conducted a grand search and combing operation in the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi police station as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and strengthen security in the federal capital.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officers, with zonal SPs overseeing activities in their respective areas. Women police personnel also took part to ensure thorough and effective checking.
During the operation, police teams checked 472 individuals, inspected 93 shops and five hotels, and examined 137 motorcycles and 17 vehicles.
For further verification and legal scrutiny, 65 suspicious individuals, including seven Afghan nationals, along with 21 motorcycles, were shifted to the concerned police station, the spokesperson added.

The operation aimed to prevent criminal activity, identify suspicious elements, and ensure a secure environment for residents. The spokesperson said police have been directed to continue similar search operations across the district to maintain law and order.
Tragic Tarlai Incident Saddened Entire Nation: AJK PM
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that the tragic incident at Imambargah Tarlai has saddened the entire nation.
The AJK prime minister expressed these views while speaking to the head of Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafaria, Allama Syed Hussain Muqaddasi, and Allama Hussain Waheed Khorasani during his visit to Ali Masjid in Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, according to an AJK government handout.
Condemning the incident, the prime minister said such cowardly and brutal acts could not weaken the nation’s resolve. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and assured them of the government’s full solidarity.
He also prayed for the swift and complete recovery of those injured and reiterated that no one would be allowed to harm sectarian harmony, religious tolerance, and brotherhood in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
“The state stands for peace, unity and brotherhood, and those involved in such incidents will be brought to justice,” he said.
The prime minister emphasized that religious scholars play a vital role in promoting peace and interfaith harmony. Special prayers were offered on the occasion for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the speedy recovery of the injured.
